Brief description

Students know the soil mechanical properties of soils and the field and laboratory tests applicable for their determination. The suitability of soils for civil engineering purposes and the quality of earthworks can be assessed. The confident handling of the subject leads to the efficient use of soil as a foundation soil or as a building material.

Overall workload

The total workload for the module is 150 hours (see also "ECTS credit points and grading").
