Teaching and learning outcomes

The module comprises two closely connected units: Unit A - Scientific Work - What is science? Which critieria (especially for citing) exist for scientific work and writing? - Which schemes exist for structuring a scientific work? - Methods for data research (literature, experiments, interviews...) and ways of presentation - Connection of formulation of a question and the use of methods - Tips for the process of scientific writing Unit B – Independent preparation of an example - Students take themes and problems from other modules of their study programme and make an example analysis with appropriate methods - They are working out a research question and an appropriate way of solving and answering by proper methods - The results are written down an

Remark on the assessment methods

The housework should express an independent discussion and reflection of a theme relevant to the planning of open spaces.

Knowledge Broadening

The students have a broad and integrated knowledge about methods for analyzing in the open space planning sector. They can mention and discuss the pro’s and con’s of different methods.

Knowledge deepening

The students have experience in using a certain method and are able to estimate its meaningfulness.
