The aim of the module is to understand and reflect on the diversity of landscape architectural solutions and design forms in a sensory context. In addition to perception, atmosphere and experience on site play a decisive role. The aim is to critically reflect on secondary literature with personal experience, place it in a new context and prepare it for other students to understand. The course usually takes place as a coherent excursion. This can either represent landscape architecture on site in its breadth or have thematic focuses from areas such as building culture, object planning, plant use, construction and vegetation technology, urban development, landscape development, landscaping. The excursion is assigned to the 6th semester, but can be taken in all semesters and is offered as a block course by various lecturers.

The module interlinks numerous modules of the Open Space Planning study program.

Students who have successfully completed this module establish links between different modules of their study program and extend their knowledge base.

Students gather experience on site and deepen their theoretical knowledge through practical exploration.

Students recognize complex interrelationships in the professional field of landscape architecture.

Students can evaluate scientific sources (texts, plans, etc.) and select and apply methods of on-site inventory analysis.

Students can present the results in a scientifically correct manner using suitable tools.

Students analyze and critically evaluate subject-related interventions, projects, concepts, information and topics and present complex contexts in a well-structured form to the study group with different objectives.

Students will be able to recognize technical and interdisciplinary connections in the on-site analysis and will be able to work independently and in a site-specific manner.
